Spring into Wellbeing: What’s upcoming at SCT

As spring unfolds across Swindon, bringing lighter days, warmer air, and the first hints of colour, the season offers a gentle reminder that renewal is possible for all of us. For carers, who so often put their own needs aside, this time of year can be an invitation to pause, reconnect, and nurture their own wellbeing.

At Swindon Carers Together, we’ve shaped a vibrant programme of activities designed to support carers’ emotional, physical, and social wellbeing throughout this new season.

Support for the Heart and Mind

Caring can bring a mix of emotions, and having the right support can make all the difference. Our specialist groups are designed to offer understanding, comfort, and connection. In our Dementia Group and PATH/Love & Loss sessions, carers can speak openly, share their experiences, and feel supported by others who understand. For those caring for someone with mental health challenges, our dedicated support group provides a space for reassurance, shared understanding, and practical advice.

As the seasons begin to change and the days grow lighter, many carers look for ways to reconnect, and our Carers Cuppa sessions offer a relaxed, friendly setting to do just that - creating time to unwind and connect with others.

Our Walk & Talk events also return, giving carers the chance to enjoy gentle activity, meaningful conversation, and the uplifting benefits of being outdoors, where even a short walk can help ease stress and restore a sense of balance.

Spring Adventures for Young Carers

This season isn’t only about supporting adult carers, our young carers have an exciting programme of their own. Balancing school, friendships, and caring responsibilities can be tough, so these activities are designed to give young carers time to relax, have fun, and build confidence.

This spring, they’ll be taking on Go‑Karting, experiencing the thrills of Thorpe Park, and tackling the high‑energy Ultimate Warrior challenge. These activities offer a powerful boost to wellbeing, helping young carers make new friends, grow their resilience, and enjoy the freedom of simply being young.

Spring teaches us that growth happens gently. Sometimes all it takes is a moment of calm, a friendly chat, fresh air, or the chance to try something new. This season, we invite carers of all ages to take even a small step toward their own wellbeing.

Whether by joining a group, exploring a creative activity, or simply taking time out, you deserve support, connection, and care.
