Meet the Team: Debbie, Operational Lead
βAt Swindon Carers Together, we're proud to have a passionate and dedicated team working behind the scenes to support unpaid carers across Swindon. This month, we're delighted to introduce Debbie, our Operational Lead.
Leading with Experience
After 12 years working for Swindon Carers Centre, Debbie brings a wealth of experience, knowledge, and passion to Swindon Carers Together. As we continue to grow and develop our services, we're excited to have her leading our operational delivery through this important new chapter.
"I'm incredibly proud to be leading Swindon Carers Together at such an important time. While much has changed, our purpose remains the same: to provide meaningful, accessible, and responsive support that empowers unpaid carers across Swindon."
Keeping Services Running Smoothly
As Operational Lead, Debbie plays a vital role in ensuring our services run effectively and that unpaid carers receive the support they need.
"No two days are ever the same," Debbie says. "I wear lots of different hats throughout the day, from overseeing service delivery and supporting our team to acting as Safeguarding Lead for both children and adults. I also help manage practical areas such as resources, health and safety, and the day-to-day issues that keep everything running."
Her role is incredibly varied. One moment she may be reviewing strategic priorities, service outcomes, or contractual requirements, and the next she could be advising on a safeguarding concern or helping resolve an unexpected practical issue.
Making a Difference Together
When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Debbie doesn't hesitate.
"Without a doubt, it's the people. I'm fortunate to work alongside a fantastic team who are caring, dedicated, skilled, and always willing to go the extra mile for carers."
For Debbie, the collaborative spirit at Swindon Carers Together is what makes the organisation truly special.
"We all share the same goal: making a positive difference to carers' lives. Knowing that the work we do helps carers feel supported, valued, and less alone is incredibly rewarding."
She also values the variety that each day brings.
"Every day is different, which means there's always something new to learn and new challenges to tackle. It's a busy role, but it's one I genuinely love."
